Week 1 - New Zealand MTC

December 11, 2019

It’s awesome here

The flight to San Francisco was quick, but the flight to New Zealand
was disgusting.  I couldn’t sleep at all.  I did kind of enjoy the
airplane food, it wasn’t terrible, but it wasn’t good.  I’m in a trio
with an elder from Melba named Elder Svedin, and an elder from
California named Elder Redfield.  We are all pretty quiet which is
nice.  There are some people who never stop talking.  The food here is
great, because I don’t have to help make it lol.  My teachers are
Brother Tulisa and Brother Shaw and they are awesome.  I think I left
my combs at home.  I’m pretty good at teaching now and since singing
hymns is the only music here, I’ve been whistling or singing hymns a
lot here.  Touch rugby is a blast, it was tough to learn though.  I’ve
been keeping a food journal of what I’ve been eating as well as a
journal of all the cool stuff that has happened.  My time is limited
so I need to wrap it up, but there are a lot of Tongan elders here, I
don’t have enough time to send pictures this week, but I’ll try to
send some eventually.

Elder Plaisted

--
From Jean Plaisted (Mom)
Trevor left from the Boise Airport Wednesday, December 3rd at 5pm.  There were 2 other missionaries from the area also leaving for the New Zealand MTC.  Here is a picture with Elder Svedin, one of his companions in the MTC.

I was able to video chat with Trevor for about 15 minutes as well.  He looked great and had a few questions for me and of course I had a couple questions for him.

Trevor - "How many cats do you have now?"
Mom - "What? I don't have any cats. Ha ha ha..."
Trevor - "Have my cousin stopped by?"
Mom - "Not yet"
Mom - "Tell me more about the plane ride"
Trevor - "I had 2 seats, but the person in front of me laid back and I couldn't get comfortable or fall asleep"
Mom - "Are you getting use to the time difference?"
Trevor - "Hasn't been bad.  We are only 4 hours behind, well and a day head"
Mom - "How big is the MTC?  Favorite food so far?"
Trevor - "Pretty small, maybe 40 -50 missionaries.  They had egg mcmuffins."
Mom - "Highlights of the week"
Trevor - "Playing touch rugby has been fun, played a couple times already.  Listened to a broadcast from the Provo MTC, with President Oaks and M. Russell Ballard.  Met my mission President on an outing today to the Hamilton Museum.  He is really tall.  He also said I would be starting in my area on the 17th"

Until next week.....
