Trevor spoke in the Meridian First Ward, his home ward. He had overwhelming support from 60 plus family and friends. Many of whom drove across many states to listen to him speak. Thank you for your love and support. It meant more that you will ever know.
Trevor's topic was "Let of Oft Speak Kind Words". A couple of the highlights. "Kindness is a powerful action. Kindness can be shown in so many ways. My favorite examples of kindness comes from what Jesus did. He spent his ministry searching for the weary, the sick the poor and the lonely, that he might show kindness toward them. Anytime kindness is discussed, the Savior should be a key part because he performed the ultimate act of kindness for all of us. He atoned for us so that we can be saved. All of the unkind things we might say to others, or the bad feelings some might have toward those who cut them off in traffic.... The Savior took all of it on himself. No matter how painful it was for him, he didn't do it for himself. He did it for us. Just thinking about that makes me feel deeply indebted to him and makes me want to try to be kind to someone new at least once a day on my mission. I would like to invite any who are willing to try this or something similar in their lives."
A lunch and Open House was held afterwards for friends and family. We are pretty sure at one point there were 40 people in Trevor's home and the majority being under the age of 18. Thanks to those who helped with the lunch. The sandwich bar and desserts were a big hit!
